Bedroom Measuring Guide — Make Sure Your New Bed Fits
Avoid delivery surprises and tight squeezes. This guide will help you measure your bedroom and access areas so your new bed fits perfectly — in the room and through your door!
1) Step 1 — Measure your room size

Write down:
- Room length (wall to wall)
-
Room width
- Ceiling height
Minimum clearance around the bed:
- 60–70 cm walking space on at least one side
- More space = easier movement + better comfort
2) Step 2 — Check access routes (doors, stairs, hallways!)

Measure:
- Door width
- Hallway width
- Staircase width & turning angles
- Lift size (if applicable)
Tip: Measure diagonally through bends or corners

3) Step 3 — Consider windows, radiators & sockets
Make note of:
- Window positions
- Curtain/opening space
- Radiators & heating vents
- Plug sockets (for TV beds or lighting!)
4) Step 4 — Fit your storage features
Ottoman beds + drawers need opening space
| Bed Type | Clearance Needed |
|---|---|
| Ottoman | Lift height & side spacing for hydraulic arms |
| Divan with drawers | 50–80cm to fully open drawers |
| High sleeper / bunk | Minimum 75cm above mattress to ceiling |

5) Step 5 — Check the actual footprint of the bed frame
Frames are larger than the mattress size!
Example differences:
- Headboards can add 6–12 cm backward depth
- Side rails add 3–6 cm width each side
- Footboards add space at end of bed
Always check the product dimensions tab before checkout
